Idan Goldberger

Australian Friends of Sheba Medical Centre (AFSMC)

Idan Goldberger leads the Australian Friends of Sheba Medical Centre (AFSMC), representing one of the world’s best and most innovative hospitals, Sheba Medical Centre at Tel HaShomer. In this role, he drives two intersecting missions: advancing ARC’s medical innovation and startup collaborations across Australia and the Asia-Pacific, and leading AFSMC’s philanthropic fundraising to support global healthcare transformation.

With over two decades of experience in philanthropy, strategic partnerships, and innovation leadership, Idan has raised millions of dollars for major philanthropic causes and now oversees healthcare innovation initiatives. He has been involved in expanding ARC’s footprint across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, connecting hospitals, clinicians, and entrepreneurs to accelerate the translation of ideas into real-world healthcare impact.

Before joining Sheba, Idan served as Executive Director of the United Israel Appeal in Melbourne, where he led major-donor campaigns and achieved consistent double-digit growth in legacy and philanthropic investment. Earlier in his career, he held senior fundraising and donor engagement roles in higher education and community organisations, recognised for building meaningful partnerships grounded in trust and shared purpose.

Idan holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Tel Aviv University and speaks four languages. His work reflects a belief that innovation and philanthropy together can accelerate healthcare transformation and create hope without boundaries.‍
